About

Old money, on a budget.

Editorial workspace with vintage notebook and peony

Most wedding, beauty, and home writing online is one of two things. A haul ("twelve products I can't stop thinking about") or a press release in disguise. Either way nobody tells you what something cost, how long it took, or what they'd skip if they had to do it again.

We wanted somewhere different. A place where the bouquet has a price next to it ($90 from a florist on Court Street), where the cleanser is named (CeraVe, $16, every drugstore in America), where a wedding is described as something someone planned with a spreadsheet — not a content opportunity.

So we built one.

What we do

We publish essays on weddings, beauty, and home. Real prices, real timelines, real sources. We write the way a friend with good taste and a small budget writes — the one who'll tell you what the dress was on sale for and where she had it altered.

The promise is small. Every story has a number. Every product has a price. If we can't tell you what something cost, we won't pretend it doesn't matter. We're not against the expensive thing — we just won't pretend it's the only path.

Who we are

Aesthetique is an independent publication. Small operation, made by hand in St. George, Utah. No VC, no growth hack, no team of fifteen. We're interested in being right more than being first, and in writing things you'd actually text to a friend.

If we recommend a product, we own it or have used it. If we link to it, we'd send the link to a friend. If a price changes, we update it. We don't run discount-code content, we don't take paid placements dressed up as essays, and we don't write about anything we can't picture on our own kitchen table.

A note on links

Some of the product links on this site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission when you purchase through them. This costs you nothing extra and helps us keep the publication independent. We only ever link to products that meet our editorial standards — the affiliate relationship is a consequence of the recommendation, never the reason for it.
